16:1. അനന്തരം യഹോവ ശമൂവേലിനോടു: യിസ്രായേലിലെ രാജസ്ഥാനത്തിൽനിന്നു ഞാൻ ശൌലിനെ തള്ളിയെന്നറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കെ നീ അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു എത്രത്തോളം ദുഃഖിക്കും? കൊമ്പിൽ തൈലം നിറെച്ചു പുറപ്പെടുക; ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ബേത്ത്ളേഹെമ്യനായ യിശ്ശായിയുടെ അടുക്കൽ അയക്കും; അവന്റെ മക്കളിൽ ഞാൻ ഒരു രാജാവിനെ കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

16:1. The LORD said to Samuel, "How long do you intend to mourn for Saul? I have rejected him as king over Israel. Fill your horn with olive oil and go! I am sending you to Jesse in Bethlehem, for I have selected a king for myself from among his sons."
